There’s still a chance to to be part of Episode 1 of The Alice Project - our epic retelling of the tale of the Kilkenny Witch Trials by Asylum Productions and the people of Kilkenny, for Kilkenny Arts Festival.

You can join our gang of armed militia, and have some craic, as we crack some heads! (Not literally folks - control yourselves! This is acting!)
We need a craic-commando squad - a dirty dozen masked militia to help us (safely) ‘break up’ a pagan night time street party on the parade.
The Party is being hosted by the Dark Dame herself: the (alleged) witch, Alice Kyteler. But the Doves are staunch supporters of Alice's Accuser in Chief, Bishop Richard de Ledrede (we swear we're not making this up - that was his actual name!), and are dedicated to taking all the fun out of fundamentalism!
We’ll have 2 rehearsal sessions where you’ll be armed with a few martial arts based ‘shapes’ to throw at the frolicking heathens, (Wed July 15th and Wed July 22nd) then 2 further sessions where we’ll work through how to suppress the demon worshipers, without actually injuring you, them or any of the unsuspecting public (Saturday July 25th and Sun July 26th, 2 - 5pm).
All rehearsals in the grounds of Kieran’s College.
The public dress rehearsal of Episode 1: The Demon Dance takes place on the Parade on August 6th,
with full public performance, suited and booted on Fri August 7th (both at 10pm at night).
DANCE
We’re 4 weeks in to our dance choreography rehearsals, but if you’re confident you can catch up, or just really keen to join the gang and want to clap along on the sidelines, email us at maria@asylumtheatre.com)
If you want to be part of our community Dance Squad (facilitated by the brilliant Cindy Cummings from our award-winning riot squad from The Big Chapel X. Rehearsals take place on Tuesday evenings from 7.00pm to 8.30pm.
The Dance Squad will be part of Episode 1 - The Demon Dance, taking place on Friday 7th of August at 10pm. The performance will be approximately 30 minutes long.
You would also need to be available on Thursday 6th of August for dress rehearsal from 9pm to 10.30pm.
CHOIR
It’s not too late to join our epic Community Choir, facilitated by the wonderful Muireann Ryan also veteran of The Big Chapel X. they meet on Thursday evenings from 7.30 to 9pm.
The choir will be part of our the final episode - The Words of Petronella, which will take place on Saturday 15th of August.
You would also need to be available for the technical rehearsal on August 13th and dress rehearsal on the 14th.
